Branding a Food Emporium

The Emporiyum is a one-of-a-kind food marketplace celebrating artisan food and drink from the best producers around the country. With roots in Baltimore, the event is now hosted annually in several major east coast cities with the mission of exposing food hobbyists to new products, artisans, and chefs through sampling and purchasing. This event draws some of the best names in food, including Erik Bruner-Yang, Bryan Voltaggio, Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream, Momofuku Milk Bar, and Quin Candy. I partnered with my client to build this brand from the ground up. My focus was on developing the brand voice and brand identity system. While the market is intended for people of all ages, the strategy was to lean hard into attracting millennials. Millennials tend to be interested in the unexpected, so the wordmark acts as a dynamic identity with varying "yum" suffixes when installed in the market environment.
